Kerala High Court invites applications for the post of Personal Assistant to Judge Grade -II

Qualification: 1) A Bachelor’s degree in any subject awarded or recognised by any of the Universities in Kerala. 2) K.G.T.E.(Higher) in Typewriting (English) and K.G.T.E.(Higher) in Shorthand (English) or equivalent qualification.

Number of vacancies :11(Eleven)

Desirable: Certificate in Computer Word Processing or equivalent.

Age limit: Candidates should have been born between 02.01.1976 and 01.01.1993 (both days inclusive).

Method of appointment: Direct Recruitment

Mode of Selection: Selection shall be made after holding Dictation Test (Shorthand) (Dictation of an English passage for 10 minutes at varying speeds between 100 and 120 words per minute and dictation of legal terms and phrases), Test of English Language, Typing Speed Test, Computer Proficiency Test and Interview.

High Court of Kerala is the highest court in the Indian state of Kerala and in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep. The High Court of Kerala is headquartered at Kochi. Drawing its powers from the Constitution of India, the High Court has the power to issue directions, orders and writs including the writs of habeas corpus, mandamus, prohibition, quo warranto and certiorari for ensuring the enforcement of the Fundamental Rights guaranteed by the Constitution to citizens or for other specified purposes. The High Court is empowered with original, appellate and revisional jurisdiction in civil as well as criminal matters, and the power to answer references to it under some statutes. The High Court has the superintendence and visitorial jurisdiction over all courts and tribunals of inferior jurisdiction covered under its territorial jurisdiction.

The Chief Justice of High Court of Kerala is Justice Jasti Chelameswar. [1][2] At present, the sanctioned Judge strength of the High Court of Kerala is 27 Permanent Judges including the Chief Justice and 12 Additional Judges. [3] Depending on the importance and nature of the question to be adjudicated, the judges sit as Single (one judge), Division (two judges), Full (three judges) or such other benches of larger strengths.

Desired Profile :

Application Fee: Rs.200. SC/ ST and Unemployed Physically Handicapped candidates are exempted from payment of fee. The fee should be remitted by way of Demand Draft drawn from any of the Nationalised Banks in favour of  Registrar General, High Court of Kerala payable at Ernakulam. The candidates should write their name and address on the reverse of the Demand Draft and send it along with the application.
