Name of the post: Assistant Public Prosecutor

Age limit: The candidate should have the age between 21-35 years as on 01-01-2011 (Age relaxation for SC-ST-SEBC-Woman-Eligible Ex Servicemen)

Educational qualification: Bachelors degree in Law from recognized university and the candidate should have two years experience as practicing advocate

Examination fee: Rs 100/- deposit in Government Treasury under the Head “0051-P.S.C.-105-State P.S.C. Examination Fee”, or in the form of Crossed IPO payable to the Secretary, Orissa Public Service Commission at General Post Office, Cuttack or Account Payee Bank Draft/Pay Order drawn in favour of the Secretary, Orissa Public Service Commission payable at any Scheduled Bank at Cuttack (Fee exemption for SC-ST).

Pay Scale: Rs 9300-34800+GP 4600
Selection Procedure: The selection should be depends upon the written test, Viva Voce Test

Public Service Commission in India owed their origin to the recommendations of the Royal Commission on superior services in India, 1924, referred to in short, as the Lee Commission, and now they find place in the Constitution of India in Articles 315 to 323. The Orissa Public Service Commission was constituted on 1st April, 1949 after it’s bifurcation from the former Bihar and Orissa Joint Public Service Commission. At the time of creation of the Orissa Public Service Commission the strength of the Commission was three including Chairman . The strength increased to five in the year 1979 and further increased to six in the year 1996.

The Commission has acquired varied experiences and expertise in the matter of selection of personnel to various services of the Government of Orissa during its functioning for more than five decades. It has also gone a long way in achieving the purpose of drawing the best personnel for the public services of Orissa.
