Job Description :
P.G.D.A.V College, recruiting applications for the post of Asst Professor
Qualification : Good academic record with at least 55% (50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST or those who passed their Master’s degree prior to 19.09.1991 and hold a Ph.D degree) or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the Master’s degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University. Candidates should have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Assistant Professors/ Lecturers conducted by the UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by the UGC.
Note :- A relaxation of the minimum marks at the post-graduate level from 55% to 50% may be provided to the candidates who have cleared the JRF examination conducted by the UGC/CSIR only, prior to 1989, when the minimum marks required to appear for JRF examination were 50%.

P.G.D.A.V College was started in a modest way on the 17th of August 1957 by the D.A.V College Managing Committee, one of the biggest educational trust in the world. It started functioning in a small portion of D.A.V school on Chitragupta Road in Pharganj with a single digit number of teachers and double digit number of students. Progressing gradually in 1971, the college shifted to its own premises at a prime location between Lajpat Nagar and Ashram on the main Ring road.. Over a period, the college became coeducational and now has over two thousand students in the morning and one thousand students in our evening college. Our college is considered as one of the best institutions for all over development in South campus and Delhi university.
Courses: The college imparts honours in ten disciplines viz. B.Com(Hons), B.A.Hons in Mathematics, , History, Economics, Political Science, English, Hindi, Sanskrit and B.Sc(Hons) in Statistics and Computer Science. It is one of the few colleges to run the B.Sc( Gen) Mathematical sciences, which is a specialised course for mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics /Operational Research. The college also admits students for B.Com(pass) and the new B.A. programme. B.Com(Hons) hosts 120 students, B.Com(Pass) a 180 and B.A. Programme 120. Rest of the courses the admission level is about 30-40 students per batch.
