Designation : Director (Cold Storage Refrigeration)
Job Description :
It is proposed to fill up one post of Director (Cold Storage Refrigeration)
Pay Band-3 of Rs. 15,600 –39,100/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 7600/-
Qualification: Degree in Electrical or Mechanical or Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration engineering of a recognized University or
equivalent;
Experience: ten years experience in Design, Installation and Maintenance of Industrial Type Cold Storage Refrigeration Plants.

Department of Agriculture and Cooperation is one of the three constituent Departments of the Ministry of Agriculture. The Department is organised into 24 divisions and a Technology Mission on Oilseeds, Pulses and Maize. It has four attached offices and 21 subordinate offices spread all over India for coordination with state-level agricultural agencies and for implementation of central sector schemes in their respective fields. There are two public sector undertakings (PSUs), seven autonomous bodies, 11 national-level cooperative organisations and two authorities under the administrative control of the Department.
Agriculture is the principal economic sector for ensuring food security of the nation and also to provide livelihood to more than 50% of our countrymen. The share of agriculture over the last five decades in the gross domestic product has decreased in comparison to the industrial and services sectors on account of relative higher growth in these sectors. Yet, agriculture still provides the bulk of wage goods required by the non-agricultural sector as well as numerous raw materials for industry. The contribution of agriculture in the country’s economic growth cannot be underestimated. Eleventh Five Year Plan envisages a 4% growth rate for the agricultural sector.

Agriculture is a state subject and states therefore are primary drivers of agriculture sector. However, without central assistance, policy & programme coordination, achieving food security & targeted growth of 4% will not be possible. To contribute in achieving the growths target in agriculture, the Government Of India in the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation (Ministry of Agriculture) has launched various new initiatives and agricultural schemes such as National Food Security Mission (NFSM), Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna(RKVY), Macro Management in Agriculture (MMA) and Integrated Scheme on Oilseeds, Pulses, Oil-Palm and Maize (ISOPOM) during the current plan period.
