Job Description :
Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) is seeking qualified candidates for the post of Director (Technology) , HMT MACHINE TOOLS LIMITED
Scale of pay: of the post being Rs.10,000-12,000/-(Pre-Revised).
Qualification: The incumbent should be a Engineering graduate or equivalent preferably with Mechanical Engineering with good academic record from a recognized University/Institution. He should have adequate experience at a senior level in a large organization of repute.
Persons with MBA qualification and dealing with Machine Tool Industry and exposed to marketing operations will be desirable.
Age Limit: On the date of occurrence of vacancy
(i) Minimum 40 years.
(ii) Not more than 56 years for internal candidates and not more than 55 years for others. The age of superannuation is 58 years.
DURATION OF APPOINTMENT: The appointment shall be for a period of five years or upto the date of superannuation whichever is earlier.

HMT was conceived by the Government of India in 1949, and was incorporated in 1953, with the objective of producing a limited range of machine tools, required for building an industrial edifice for the country.
With the success achieved in the initial years in absorbing the technology and in attaining production competence far ahead of the original plans, the Company launched a bold plan of diversification and expansion which resulted in the duplication of the Bangalore Unit and the setting up of new units at Pinjore, Kalamassery and Hyderabad.
