Designation : Lecturer, Production Assistant
Job Description :
Applications are invited from the citizens of India for appointment to the following posts by direct recruitment in Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata in the following Pay Scale plus other allowances as admissible, as per Govt. of India Rules:
1. Lecturer (Cinematography): 01 Post
* Scale of Pay: PB-3 Rs.15600- 39100/- GP Rs.5400/- MGS: Rs.42,842/-
* Age Limit: 37 years
* Qualification: i) Degree of a recognized University; ii) Degree or post graduate Diploma or equivalent in Motion Picture Photography or cinematography from a recognized University or Institute; iii) At least three years’ professional experience as Cinematographer and/or teaching experience in Motion Picture photography or cinematography in an organization or institution of repute.
2. Production Assistant: 02 Posts
* Scale of Pay: PB-2 Rs.9300- 34800/- GP Rs.4200/- MGS: Rs.26,851/-
* Age Limit: 32 Years
* Qualification: i) Diploma in Direction from a recognized Film School; OR Diploma in Production from the National School of Drama or its equivalent; OR Degree of a recognized University of equivalent. ii) At least FOUR years’ experience in Film/TV Production in an Organization or Institution connected with Film/TV Production/Training.OR i) Matriculation with at least SEVEN years’ experience as a Unit Manager or Production Assistant in Film Studio or Film Production Organization or TV Studio or Production Unit of repute.
3. Lighting Assistant: 01 Post
* Scale of Pay: PB Rs.5200- 20200/- GP Rs.1900/- MGS: Rs.14,897/-
* Age Limit: 27 Years
* Qualification: i) Matriculation of a recognized Board, or equivalent, or ITI (Electrical) passed ii) A relevant License issued by the Competent Authority to work in 3 phase 440 volt electric line. iii) At least FOUR years’ experience in related field in a Film Studio or equivalent Organisation of repute.

The institute is equipped with up to date technology and is aimed at producing film and television professionals, capable of independent creative and innovative work in the field and thus contributing to the growth and development of cinema in the country.
SRFTI’s objectives are:
* To impart practical and theoretical training in all aspects of film and television production, including introduction to related fields.
* Grant Certificates, Diplomas, Honours Diplomas and such other certificates etc. as may be instituted from time to time to the trainees on successful completion of prescribed courses of study;
* Co-ordinate the activities of education and skill development in the field of film and television programme conception and production.
MANAGEMENT & ORGANISATIONAL FRAMEWORK
SRFTI is a fully funded autonomous institution under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, run by a Society constituted by the Government of India. The Society, headed by a President, runs the Institute through a Governing Council (GC). The Society, Governing Council and Standing Finance Committee have officials of the Ministry of I&B as ex-officio members representing the Government. There is an Academic Council (AC), which is empowered to take policy decisions as regards all academic and production-related affairs of the Institute.

M. By Pass Road, P.O. Panchasayar, Kolkata – 700 094”, along with a Demand Draft (non-refundable) of Rs.200/- for Sl. Nos.01 to 02 and Rs.100/- for Sl.No.03, drawn in favour of “Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute”, payable at Kolkata. The following categories of applicants are, however, exempted from payment of application fees as per extant practice of GOI – SC, ST, PH, female. The applicant may send the application by ordinary post or may drop in the application box located in Admn. Block of this Institute, by 22.07.2011.
