Job Description:
Cochin Shipyard Limited, invites applications for appointment to the following positions on Contract Basis.
Si No. 1
Post Name: Semi Skilled Welder on Contract Basis (50 Nos)
Qualification : Pass in SSLC, ITI (NTC) in Welder and National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).
Si No. 2
Post Name: Semi Skilled Structural Fitters on Contract Basis (24 Nos)
Qualification : Pass in SSLC, ITI (NTC) in the trades of Sheet Metal Worker/ Fitter and National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).
Renumeration: Rs. 6750/-pm Consolidated p.m.
Age Limit: Not exceed 30 years as on 27 Jun 2011 relaxable 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD

Cochin Shipyard (CSL) is the largest ship building yard in India. It is located at Kochi, Kerala. The shipyard is named after the city of Kochi, which was formerly known as Cochin.
The shipyard also trains graduate engineers in marine engineering. Around hundred students are trained each year.
Ship repairing
The shipyard commenced ship repair operations in the year 1982 and has undertaken repairs of all types of ships including upgradation of ships of oil exploration industry as well as periodical lay up repairs and life extension of ships of Navy, UTL, Coast Guard, Fisheries and Cochin Port Trust besides merchant ships of SCI & ONGC. The yard has, over the years, developed adequate capabilities to handle complex and sophisticated repair jobs.

How to Apply: Walk in interview will be conducted from 0900 Hrs to 1500 hrs on 08th & 09th July 2011 at Cochin Shipyard Indoor Stadium, Thevara. Candidates meeting the requirements will only be shortlisted and they need to attend a practical test on the same day or on a later date as fixed by the Shipyard.
