Job Description:

Applications are invited from eligible local candidates for filling up of 120 (One hundred and twenty) posts of Post Graduate Teacher

No of Post : 120 Posts

Pay Scale: PB-2 of Rs. 9300-34800 plus grade pay of Rs.5000/-and for filling up of 38 (thirty eight) posts of Post Graduate Teachers in PB-2 of Rs. 9300-34800 plus grade pay of Rs.5000/-

Qualification :

(i) Master’s Degree in respective subject with B Ed.

* a) M.A. B.Ed (History, Pol. Science, Geography, Sociology,Economics)
* b) M.Sc. B.Ed (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology).
* c) M.Com. B.Ed.
* d) M.A. B.Ed (Major Languages Nepali, English, Hindi).

(ii) Master Degree without B.Ed- with 50% and above for General category and 45% and above for reserved category in respective subject can also apply. On selection, they shall be given conditional appointment for five years and they should acquire the B.Ed qualification within 5 years, failing which their services will be terminated without any notice.

Age Limit: Should have attained the age of 18-30 years as on 01.07.2011, and the upper age limit will be relaxed by 5 yrs for SC/ST/BL candidates, 4yrs for MBC and 3 yrs for OBC candidates. For Inservice government employees, the upper age limit shall be 40yrs.

Company Profile:

Sikkim became an integral part of the Indian Union in May, 1975. The Constitutional Provision under Article 315 to have a Public Service Commission for the State was fulfilled by constituting a State Public Service Commission in the year 1978. The Public Commission has actually started functioning from 1982 with the appointment of the Chairman and deputation of the staff from the State Government.

Thereafter the Commission started to function in different rented buildings. At present the State Public Service Commission is located in the class rooms of the Old West Point School Complex.

Consequent upon the decision of the Union Public Service Commission to declare Gangtok as one of the Centres for conducting Union Public Service Commission Examinations, the Sikkim Public Service Commission has been entrusted with the work of conducting Union Public Service Commission examinations.

How to Apply: Application form can be downloaded from The form should be filled up by the candidate himself/herself and submitted in the office of Joint Director of HRDD in their respective district along with original Bank Receipt of State Bank of Sikkim, for Rs. 150/- credited to ‘0051-SPSC’. Last date for submission of filled-in application form is Friday the 05th August, 2011.There are separate Application Forms for Direct Recruitment and Inservice Graduate Teachers respectively.
