Applications on prescribed form are invited from the citizens of India for the posts of Sister Grade-II on regular basis, as under:-
1. Sister Grade-II
* No. of Post: 17
* Pay Scale : Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade Pay Rs 4600/-
* Age Limit: 18-30 years
* Qualification : i. Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized University/Board. i. Certificate in General Nursing & Midwifery from a recognized Institution or equivalent for male nurse. iii. Should be a registered ‘A’ Grade Nurse and Midwife with a state Nursing Council or equivalent qualification for male nurse.

The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage. The institute started in 1962 and Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru inaugurated the hospital now named Nehru Hospital on 7th July 1963. The Institute was originally under the Government of undivided Punjab. After the reorganization of the state, the administrative control of the institute passed on to the Union Territory of Chandigarh in November 1966. The Institute became an autonomous body under the Act of Parliament in 1967 functioning under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, with the following mandate.
* Provide high quality patient care.
* Attain self-sufficiency in postgraduate medical education and to meet the countrys need for highly qualified medical teachers in all medical and surgical fields.
* Provide educational facilities for the training of personnel in all-important branches of health activity.
* Undertake basic community based research.

How to Apply : Applications form can be obtained from the office of the Medical Superintendent, Nursing Cell (Establishment), Nehru Hospital, PGIMER, Chandigarh-160012 either personally or on written request accompanied by a self addressed and stamped (Rs. 10/-) envelope (27 cm. X 12 cm.).
The application form can also be downloaded from our website (www.pgimer.nic.in). Incomplete applications and the applications received after the due date i.e. after 16.08.2011 will be summarily rejected.
